Nature blessed us with a dinner-time weather window on Sunday, and the Free Harvest Supper was a great success.   Over 800 dinners were served, there was fabulous entertainment and a friendly crowd.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered, cooked, ate, bought raffle tickets, and made the Supper such a great community event.

5 to 5:45 p.m.: West County Jazz: An ensemble that plays classics from the modern jazz repertoire, with a little bossa nova.

The Free Harvest Supper raised over $4000 in 2010 and gave Farmers’ Market coupons to 550 families in Franklin County.  We are gearing up for a great 2011 event, but we can’t do it without your help.  We need volunteers to help with appetizer prep, setup, recycling, serving foods, line managers, and of course clean up!

2010 Free Harvest Supper Success!! September 3, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — freeharvestsupper @ 9:37 pm

Thanks to everyone who made the 6TH Annual Free Harvest Supper a success!  Despite the sometimes heavy rain, over 550 people showed up to enjoy the fine food, music, & community!

The Really-Really Free Market was buzzing with produce from our wonderful farms and local gardeners.

Combined with the generous donations from the July Free Soup & Games Night at Hope & Olive, over $4000 was raised for the Center for Self-Reliance Farmers’ Market Coupon Project!!

A special thanks to Courtney Goodrum at Valley Tees for the volunteer t-shirts.

We are blessed to live in an area where we really CAN eat local year-round.   Try to eat local whenever you can!

See you next year!
